Jaeger LeCoultre Grande Reverso Duodate Watches
Written by James Matthews
One of the other great classic features of the Reverso is the possibility of providing dual displays on twin dials, an option showcased in this Duodate model.
The silvered front dial shows the time in the reference time zone, complete with a small seconds display at 6 o’clock. A rounded date display arches across the top of the minute-track rectangle with its Clous de Paris hobnail pattern standing out against the surrounding vertical guilloche area.
Swivelling the watch reveals a dual time-zone display against a black background, complete with a day/night indicator. This second time zone can be set directly on the crown in such a way as to avoid disturbing the minute or date setting. All these functions on the twin dials are driven by a single proprietary mechanical manually-wound movement, the Jaeger-LeCoultre caliber 986.
