TAG is playing Tag!

TAG Heuer’s motor-racing heritage isn’t just a remnant of the past. In fact, the Swiss watch brand has found enough inspiration from its track record to breathe life into the sporty new Grand Carrera watch series, as well as to produce a photographic exhibition and charity event celebrating influential men and women and the “dream machines, or GT cars, that inspire them.
The Grand Carrera collection includes several new models that pay homage to the original 1964 Carrera design, yet are updated with a new way to display time: the TAG Heuer Calibre RS movement. The GT engine-inspired rotating system enables wearers to easily read small seconds, a second time zone or chronograph time.
The brand says the collection is redefining the luxury sports watch category with its blend of sophisticated design and highly advanced movements. All models feature oversized screw-in crowns and push-button clasps, polished beveled edges and curved, faceted horns on both case sides, along with a double sapphire crystal caseback.
The collection will be on display at a June 26 racing and charity event at the Circuit Paul Ricard High Tech Test Track in Le Castellet, France. International celebrities, drivers, TAG Heuer ambassadors and fans of GT cars will all be on hand to celebrate the new watch collection as well as to view the “Dream Machines driven by Generous Hearts” photography exhibition. The photographs feature international talents from the worlds of art, sports and business—such as James Bond star Timothy Dalton, Australian actor Eric Bana and Olympic figure skater Katerina Witt—photographed with their favorite GT cars.
The exhibition and a book combining the photographs are a project between TAG Heuer and Save the Children. All proceeds from the sale of the book will support Save the Children’s recreational and sports projects around the world.
