With its innovative and outstanding design, the Oris BC4 Flight Timer has won a 2009 red dot best of the best Award in the category of Product Design. Today the red dot design award is the best known and most competitive international design prize.

Just 49 products from the 3231 that were entered from companies in 49 different countries were given a best of the best accolade in 2009. The international red dot jury takes many criteria – including innovation, functionality, quality, longevity and user-friendliness – into consideration before making its decision. The BC4 Flight Timer was recognized for its many outstanding design features, including its ability to display three time zones simultaneously on one dial.

This is made possible by the Oris-developed Worldtimer movement. The compass and innovative folding clasp design also helped to convince the jury. Oris’ Product Development Manager, Ralf Hilbich, said: “I’m absolutely delighted we’ve received this prestigious award for the BC4 Flight Timer. We always knew that the design and testing work we did with the pilots was invaluable. At Oris form always follows function and to win a red dot design award is fantastic.”

The BC4 collection is taking the Oris World of Aviation to new heights.  But it is style, not altitude that makes the BC4 Chronograph and Pointer Day real high flyers.

The black dials and elegant white numerals are chic; the red markers for the date, days and minutes are bold. The intriguing three date display at 3 o’clock calls to mind the scrolling numbers of flight instruments.  The repeated presence of the striking small second display at 9 o’clock shows consistency and reliability. This also appears on the BC4 Flight Timer – the third member of the collection.

The Chronograph is a watch made for action.  As the seconds, minutes and hours are counted you’ll see how time really flies.  The Pointer Day is a 21^st century take on the traditional and beloved Oris original.  Both models are protected by the Oris Quick Lock Crown system – a parachute to help avoid accidental adjustment.

The world of professional divers watches will never be the same again. In cooperation with professional offshore divers Oris has developed the innovative Rotation Safety System.

In the world of professional diving, where mistakes can be fatal, the Oris ProDiver Chronograph is the ultimate in safety equipment. The rotating top ring has a specially designed grip made of durable, shock resistant, vulcanised rubber. The ring must be lifted before it can be turned: offering twice the protection of a standard divers’ safety bezel.

But the safety system of the Oris ProDiver doesn’t end here. The lightweight titanium case also houses a black DLC coated side safety barrier, which protects the crown and chronograph pushers, allowing them to be screwed to the case. This also ensures the water resistance of the ProDiver in depths of up to 1000m.

An in-built, automatic, self-regulating helium valve is ideal for professional divers who do their job in deep-sea conditions and spend weeks at a time in a diving bell.

The black and white zone counters of the chronograph displays offer the diver even more accurate dive timing. The white Superluminova of the hands and indices is ultra visible – even at massive depths where no daylight shines through.
