Three new Tissot Classic Prince timepieces share memories of an arduous journey between Russia and Le Locle, Switzerland in 1917. A wristwatch sold to an important diplomat in Russia in 1916 and sent to Tissot for maintenance and safekeeping at the outbreak of the revolution a year later, inspires today’s range. The contemporary Tissot Classic Prince watches vividly recreate Art Deco style, integrating 18 carat rose gold and a mechanical movement protected by a screw-down case. A memorable design journey
The solid gold, rectangular case of the three new watches adopts the same ‘banana’ shape as their famous ancestor, now safely housed in the Tissot museum in Le Locle. It curves around the wrist, mirroring the soft contours. The Art Deco theme embraces both the lines of the watch and the design of the swirling numbers, with their varying size cleverly fitting them into the dimensions of the slim, rectangular dial. A historical Tissot logo on the dial and delicate bleuté hands add touches of romantic nostalgia. Ensuring the seal of modernity, the new Tissot Classic Prince contains a Swiss made 17-jewel mechanical movement and is water resistant to a depth of 30 metres (100 feet).

Variations on a classical theme
The Tissot Classic Prince Diamonds frames a silver-coloured dial with 165 diamonds of 1.08 carat Top Wesselton vvs quality. Completing the classical trio is a Tissot Classic Prince with a black dial with or without diamonds. All models are attached securely to the wrist by a genuine crocodile leather strap in an up-to-the-minute shade of chocolate brown and with a stylish folding buckle. The Tissot PRC 200 Lady chronographs have round, brushed and polished stainless steel cases. On one model this encompasses a black dial, on the other, a white one, both in subtly glistening mother-of-pearl to emphasise their intrinsic femininity. Protecting all this is a scratchproof sapphire crystal to ensure these timepieces keep their promise of robustness. The dials are complemented by leather straps in the same colour, with a glamorous lizard-look finish.

Timekeeping lifestyles
Proven chronograph functionality powered by a quality Swiss movement enables the Tissot PRC 200 Lady watches to successfully keep up with the lifestyle rhythms of contemporary women. The three chronograph counters are located on the left-hand-side of the dial, perfectly balancing the crown and two pushers opposite. There is a date display at 3 o’clock and the model designation is clearly printed on the dial. Each hour is indicated by symmetrical index marks, circled by digits indicating 0 to 60 minutes in five-minute intervals for an added touch of dynamism. The Tissot PRC 200 Lady has a screw-down back and crown – and with water resistance assured to 200 metres, lady wearers of these timepieces are unlikely to get out of their depth, in or out of the water.

The case, in stainless steel with 18kt rose gold PVD (method of coating watch cases by integrating titanium particles and then depositing gold for color. (Usually comes in black finish) , measures 41mm. The crystal and display back are sapphire, and it is water resistant to 30 meters. Movement is the automatic ETA caliber Valjoux 7750 with 25 jewels, beating at 28,800 bph and with a power reserve of 42 hours. MSRP is $1,395.

This Tissot watch is truly amazing. The case, in stainless steel, measures 43mm. It has a sapphire crystal and is water resistant to 100 meters. Movement is the Swiss quartz ETA caliber G10. Dials are in black with yellow, red or orange markers.

Diving functionality in depth

SEA-Touch fulfils all of the European Norm EN13319 stipulated criteria (divers accessories) – luminosity, shock resistance, anti-magnetism, band solidity and the integration of a time control device. This tactile watch provides a selection of important diving data. When the diver enters the water (minimum depth 1m40), the hands go directly to 9 o’clock. Later the minute hand displays the depth of the dive on the scale around the bezel. The hour hand reveals the speed the diver is moving at in meters per minute on the dial. Excellent visibility comes from highly luminescent material and an effective backlight. Patented technology by Tissot SA on the SEA-Touch ensures that the rubber-protected pushers have double protection and therefore can operate perfectly underwater.

Watertight beauty

The diver’s surroundings are often breathtaking to the eye and the SEA-Touch makes sure that it also looks the part. A stainless steel bracelet and case secures a stylish black and white bezel framing a choice of a black, a white or an orange dial. The silver dial has silver-colored indices, the black one uses contrasting black and white markings and the orange one has orange indices. The angular shape of the case is picked up by the metal base of the rubber-capped pushers. Even the keenest divers spend a lot of time on dry land – there they can use their SEA-Touch to make a sporty style statement or to reminisce about previous dives using the tactile logbook.
