The New Corum Golden Tourbillon Panoramique
Written by James Matthews
The Golden Tourbillon Panoramique from Corum is a limited edition of 66 pieces in gold (white and rose) and 5 pieces in platinum.
Movement is the mechanical hand-wound Corum 382 (base LaJoux Perret 7951) with 168 parts, 17 jewels, beating at 21,600 bph with the bridges and bottom plate done in transparent sapphire crystal. It has a 90 hour power reserve. Each movement is assembled and adjusted for a full three weeks, before being cased up.
The case, in gold or platinum, is Tonneau shaped and measures 38mm X 53mm, with double sapphire crystals (AR coated). It is water resistant to 30 meters.
The dial features open-worked hands in black. Diamonds are optional, with 225 available for a total weight of 8.40 carats. The strap is crocodile with 18kt gold mechanical-fastening triple folding clasp.
Words cannot describe these watches! I hope Movado will come out with something like this.
